It says that "Dokdo Island and Uleungdo
Island are at the east sea of Uljin-hyun.
These two islands are not far from each
other, and visible to the naked eye."
It was scientifically proved that Dokdo
Island is visible from Uleungdo Island.
(It is not visible from Oki Island of

| -Joseon Gukkyo
Simalnaetamseo (1870년)
Right after the Meiji Restoration, MOFA
and the Home Ministry of Japan gave
a direction to investigate 'the reason
why Uleungdo Island and Dokdo Island
belong to Joseon territory' when they
investigated Joseonn in December 1869.
Shimane of Japan asked the Home Office
whether these two islands would be included
to the map and the property check in
1876 and the Home Office reached a conclusion
that "this issue was concluded
in 1699 and Uleungdo Island and Dokdo
Island are Joseon territory and Japan
doesn't have to care for them"
and decided to exclude them from the
Japanese map and the property check.
